But one American social media star has revealed exactly how much good lighting and angles can affect the appearance of cellulite in an inspiring Instagram post.

After accidentally taking a beach-side photo that accentuated the cellulite on her thighs, American Instagram star Tesia Kline chose to share the unflattering image with her 95,000 followers.

Publishing the picture along with a ‘good’ lighting photo, Tesia captioned the images ‘my legs’ and ‘also my legs’.

The 27-year-old student from Alabama referred to both herself and her followers as “FLAWESOME from every point of view” in the inspirational post that has been liked over 6,000 times.

Her comments were quickly flooded with appreciative messages, thanking Tesia for being “real” and acting as an “inspo” to others struggling with their body image.

Tesia told Cosmopolitan UK that she chose to share the side-by-side images “because I feel there are millions of women out there who are so insecure about something that is not normal”.

Despite cellulite affecting 90% of adult women, Tesia said that it is often seen as “some kind of disorder” that needs to be cured.
