Why did Jamie Laing drop out of Strictly and what happened to his foot?

On September 5, 2019 The Sun exclusively revealed that Jamie had been forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing due to a foot injury.

He landed awkwardly during the group dance on the pre-recorded opening show.

The Sun revealed how Jamie was in doubt for the series after being seen on crutches at the weekend.

What has been said about Jamie quitting Strictly?

In a statement the BBC said: “Sadly, due to an injury, Jamie Laing will no longer be able to take part in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing. As the Strictly launch show is pre-recorded, Jamie will still feature in this programme which airs Saturday September 7.”

Jamie said: “I’m absolutely devastated that I’m unable to continue in the competition, I was so excited to hit the dance floor. I would like to wish the lovely couples all the very best and hope they enjoy their time on the show to the fullest.”

It’s unknown if the reality star will still receive the £25,000 fee for the show.whopping £100,000.

Who was Jamie Laing partnered up with before he had to quit Strictly?

Jamie’s partner was the fabulous Oti Mabuse.

After it was announced that she would be his partner he gushed that he felt like he “already won” being paired with the champion dancer.

However, after he pulled out she was paired with Kelvin Fletcher who, in a further blow to Jamie, is now tipped to win the show.

When is Strictly Come Dancing 2019 on?

The next show airs TOMORROW (Saturday, September 28, 2019) on BBC One at 7pm.

The results show is the following day on Sunday at 7.15pm.
