Tyson Fury refuses to watch brother Tommy on Love Island due to body insecurities

Love Island 2019’s Tommy Fury has the full support of his brother Tyson Fury from outside the villa.

The professional boxer spoke on Good Morning Britain about his younger sibling, 20, for the first time since the show kicked off.

Days on from Piers Morgan calling him a “halfwit, Tyson joined the host on air via a live link, with him currently in Las Vegas.

While not necessarily being a fan of the show, the boxer is rooting for his brother despite the series making him “feel bad about himself”.

Tyson Fury is not watching brother Tommy on Love Island

He joked that watching all the “ripped” contestants doesn’t do wonders for him, but he believes the show will help Tommy with his career.

Tyson told the hosts: “Well it’s not something I can say I have honestly watched ever. I’m usually quite jealous of how they all look.

“Me being a fat man, they’re all ripped, it’s not something I wanna watch all the time, it makes me feel bad about myself.”

On sibling Tommy’s career, Tyson doesn’t doubt that the show’s popularity will benefit him in the ring.

He explained: “I think it will be good for his career as a boxer, it’ll make him more popular and at the end of the day you need that start in boxing.”

Tyson’s boxing promoter Frank Warren also praised the islander, before adding why he too thought the show would benefit him.

Tyson said the show ‘made him feel bad about himself’

He said: “The audience will watch when he fights again. You think about the popularity from Love Island – it’s a young audience.

“It would take 30 or 40 fights to get that audience, it’s great for boxing, it’s great for him and it’s great for the box office.”

Tommy is currently having girl trouble thanks to Molly-Mae Hague, but two new girls could be about to change that.

Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
