Meanwhile, Jimmy, 33,  might just be the secret weapon the couple needs to take home the grand prize.

‘I’m a plumber, on and off the tools,’ he said.

‘I think that will be an advantage for me, knowing the process of construction,’ he adds.

The Brisbane-based couple also shares a four-year-old daughter, Frankie.

Currently renting a home and working endless hours, the pair hope to use their winnings to buy a home of their own.

‘We are doing this for Frankie. We want to try and win to set our family up,’ Jimmy told Nine.

Meanwhile, the couple thought their life-changing opportunity on the reality show was over for good when production was shut down in March due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

‘We were told your journey is probably over; you’re most likely not coming back because we don’t know what’s happening with COVID,’ Jimmy told The Courier Mail.

‘We had all quit our jobs and put our life on hold. Having to come home to such an unstable economic climate, you couldn’t go and get a new job and say “I might have to leave if I get a call from The Block”,’ he added, explaining the shows producers arranged for them to be paid once they returned.
