Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield has called out trolls who talk about her on private Facebook groups.

Sharing screen grabs of online exchanges to Instagram Stories on Friday, the 24-year-old said she ‘doesn’t have the need’ for everyone to like her.

Abbie went on to say that it’s important to name the Facebook groups so that future contestants of the Bachelor franchise are aware.

Underneath a screen grab of an online thread where a troll relentlessly criticised Abbie’s followers and her time on The Bachelor, Abbie wrote: ‘I don’t have the need for everyone to like me, I don’t want a palatable personality.

‘That would be boring as f**k, and I wouldn’t make any changes to anything ever,’ she continued.

Referencing her time on The Bachelor, Abbie added: ‘Also this was 15 MONTHS AGO. GIVE IT UP.’

‘Imagine being that insecure and mat at someone you don’t know to repost it (the exchange),’ they wrote in the screen grab. ‘She puts herself out there and gets upset when people talk about her.’

In response, Abbie captioned the screen grab: ‘I’m not mad nor insecure, I find this funny and pathetic, but also it’s important to call out these insidious Facebook groups so the next season of contestants have one less thing to worry about!’

The Queensland-based star rose to fame on Matt Agnew’s 2019 season of The Bachelor.

She is set to return to screens in spin-off Bachelor In Paradise, and has since become an influencer and podcast host.

Abbie was portrayed as a ruthless temptress on The Bachelor last year in counterpoint to girl-next-door (and eventual winner) Chelsie McLeod.

She told New Idea last week that she’s concerned she will be edited as the ‘sexy villain’ once again when season three of Bachelor In Paradise debuts in July.

‘I already am worried about how the edits are going to go,’ Abbie said.

She added: ‘I think when you’re on TV, you’re a one-dimensional character. And my character was overtly sexual and confident, and to a lot of people that equals b***h.’
