Strictly Come Dancing’s head judge Shirley Ballas appeared on It Takes Two on Friday with Zoe Ball and Rylan Clark-Neal after being hooked to a drip earlier in the day.
The dancing legend, 59, danced onto the BBC2 spin-off show’s set as a ball of energy despite recently being struck by illness with a sudden health scare.
Head judge Shirley appeared healthy and happy as she joined Rylan and Zoe to chat about the BBC dance competition ahead of this weekend’s show amid recent backlash over her judging comments.
Shirley appeared to brush off her recent illness as she made light of the fact that hours earlier she had been hooked onto a vitamin drip.
The star told Zoe and Rylan: “I’m having an absolute blast, I’m a little sick today but I managed to get out of bed and get here.”
As Zoe worriedly pointed out: “We saw you was hooked up to a drip!”
Shirley simply brushed off the scare and said: “I’m fine.”
Taking to Instagram earlier, Shirley posted several snaps that showed a vitamin drip attached to her arm.
She wrote: “Full of all sorts of things Vitamin c, Magnesium b12 and the list goes on. Feeling under the weather today as a result of a tough week.
“Hopefully we’ll be right as rain for Saturday,” she posted.
It comes after Shirley was sent death threats over the early elimination of contestants Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell.
The judge appeared to avoid talking about the recent death threats on the show, while Rylan and Zoe also chose not to address the trolling.
Earlier in the week, pro dancer Dianne Buswell begged fans to stop sending Shirley death threats, following her and radio DJ Dev Griffin’s controversial exit.
The 59-year-old head judge was targeted by furious viewers after the DJ was booted off the competition.
Dianne was forced to take to Twitter and pleaded with trolls to stop sending Shirley death threats.
Dianne tweeted: “Guys this is terrible you can not be bullying like this. It’s awful and really upsets me to hear this. It’s simply not ok and should never happen!”
Earlier in the week, Shirley appeared on Loose Women where she claimed Strictly viewers were to blame for not saving Dev and Dianne.
Shirley said: “The three judges were unanimous. It wasn’t down to me. It was unanimous and I agreed.”
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues Saturday with the results show on Sunday on BBC One.
