Ruth Langsford briefly went missing on This Morning today, leaving husband Eamonn Holmes to host alone.
The pair were hosting the ITV daytime show today, which was packed full of gossip about Boris Johnson’s girlfriend Carrie Symonds.
But the pair suffered a bit of a blunder after Ruth went missing following an ad break.
Eamonn was sat on the sofa by himself as he announced what was coming up on the show today.
He told viewers: “Very good to see you again. Theresa May has left Downing Street for the last time. today. She is on her way to the Commons for Prime Minister’s Questions in just under an hour’s time.
“We’re going to have news analysis from ITV’s political editor Robert Peston about what the day holds for her, the sequence of events when she relinquishes her office and when Boris Johnson actually takes over from that.
“So those pictures just in from Downing Street – Theresa May has left Downing Street.”
Eamonn then finally cheekily addressed his wife’s absence, quipping: “Ruth has left the studio, she’ll be back very shortly.”
Thankfully, Ruth eventually returned after the TV schedule was announced for today – just in time to interview fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier.
Today’s This Morning focused entirely on Boris Johnson and his girlfriend Carrie, which left some a little frustrated.
One tweeted: “Eammon and Ruth have talked about the life of Carrie Symonds, the clothes of Carrie Symonds and now the food of Carrie Symonds… #ThisMorning.”
