The television star’s 939K followers were quick to react to the post as they shared their own thoughts and puns over the image.

One person said: ‘You’ll tie yourself in knots trying to solve that one.’

A different person put: ‘Best thing that happens on that show tbh. That and when you occasionally get one of the easier number games.’

Another follower joked: ‘An unusual, safe word, but whatever works for you.’

While a different account added: ‘I would have responded earlier, but I was a bit tied up,’ followed by a wink emoji.

In 2018, Countdown host Rachel, 34, admitted it wasn’t the risqué words that frequently appear on the letters board that left her most red-faced, but rather an accidental innuendo from host Nick Hewer.

‘My most embarrassing moment is Nick Hewer telling everyone I was gagging for a hard one. I had my face in my hands. We had a series of easy number games and Nick told everybody I was gagging for a hard one,’ she recalled to Sunday People.

She said that often the words that turn the air blue on the show mostly go over the heads of her co-hosts.

Rachel explained sometimes the words can be quite rude to a ‘certain audience’ but not to an older generation.

She said that she will often be ‘wetting herself’ in the corner leaving them baffled.

‘A lot of the time it goes over Nick and Susie’s head. Susie has got the most amazing knowledge of everything in the English language unless it’s got a rude connotation.

‘She has a complete blindspot. I’m the go-to dictionary and film person that she checks with – “is this an innuendo, would this sound weird?”.’

Over the years, Rachel has been left with several cheeky innuendos or rude words on the letters board.

The star was once left red-faced and mortified after she spelled out ‘c** budgie’ during the show.

Later taking to Twitter with a snapshot of the awkward moment, Rachel joked: ‘Anyone in need of a new creative insult, @C4Countdown is at your service! Come on, we all know one…’

While in 2019, Rachel was left raising her eyebrows as she was tasked with spelling out ‘w***ers’, which was blurred and beeped out when the show aired.

Asked what words they had managed to make out of the random letters, contestant Rob said: ‘A bit of a rude seven,’ while his opponent James added: ‘Yeah, I have got a certain seven as well.’

As it transpired that both men had come up with ‘w***ers’, comedian Rory Bremner – who was in Dictionary Corner with Susie Dent – was left stifling his giggles as he mused: ‘I would have preferred swanker.’

Flustered host Nick Hewer then asked Susie if there were any polite alternatives they could have chosen, with Susie revealing they could have picked ‘workman’ or ‘workmen’.
