Richard Madeley TRIPS on live TV as he arrives on The Circle – and viewers joke Alan Partridge has joined the Channel 4 show


RICHARD Madeley tripped on live TV as he made his debut on The Circle – and viewers couldn’t help but joke Alan Partridge had joined the show.

The TV legend is starring in the new Channel 4 series where he will pose as Richard – a hot 23-year-old hunk – or 27-year-old beauty Judy.

His identity will be chosen by a public vote, as Richard admits his main mission is to cause trouble.

He said: “I’m an agent of mischief. I’m here to stir things up.”
In the last few moments of tonight’s launch show – hosted by Emma Willis – Richard entered the flat he will be staying in for the foreseeable future.

A typewriter, keyboard and miniature snooker table greeted Richard, who brought a travel bag and guitar for the duration of his reality TV stint.

Richard is joining The Circle to cause trouble for the contestants

As he walked around the sofa talking to himself/viewers at home about his new home, Richard had an unfortunate slip-up.

Despite carrying on as if nothing had happened, the camera went back to host Emma in the studio who couldn’t help but laugh.

Richard as often been compared to TV’s cheesy comic character Alan Partridge.

It led The Circle viewers to joke he was entering as the Norfolk-based DJ.

One said: “Alan partridge just entered the circle AMAZING!!!!!”

Another added: “Canny believe actual real life Alan Partridge is going on this, this is TV gold in the making #thecircle.”

Someone else said: “Richard Madeley need not catfish as anyone else he is ALREADY ALAN PARTRIDGE #thecircle.”

Richard previously told The Sun: “If people want to take the p**s, that’s fine. It’s a harmless joke.

“I can take it. I don’t take myself even remotely seriously. I know some people do, and they get offended by being teased — but it’s only teasing.”
