Paddy McGuinness and Keith Lemon accidentally got drunk with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield minutes before they were scheduled to appear on Loose Women.
The comedians rolled up on set and immediately started joking about being inebriated after celebrating the This Morning stars’ eight-week summer break.
“We’ve just had a bit of champagne round This Morning because it’s Holly and Phillip’s last day, so we’re a bit drunk,” Paddy told the Loose Women panel.
“He’s slurring,” laughed Keith as he jerked his thumb at his best friend.
Sipping from a mug, Paddy added: “We just had a glass with Schofield. He loves it.”
Panel host Christine Lampard laughed as she told them: “Well it is a Friday and you’re allowed to do that.”
“Exactly. Get some fish and chips in,” chortled Keith.
The rowdy lads weren’t the only ITV stars to get a bit sozzled live on air today.
Holly and Phil were in high spirits as they enjoyed their last day of filming for the year, as they prepare to go off air for nearly eight weeks over the summer.
The pair are taking the rest of the school holidays off to spend time with their families, and they’ve revealed Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford are taking over.
Holly and Phil made a special appearance on today’s show, even though they don’t normally work Fridays, to say goodbye.
At the start of the show, they broke the news about their time off, with Phil saying: “It’s our last show before we go on our summer break… [Holly’s] head’s already on a lounger somewhere.”
Holly then added: “But don’t worry, Eamonn and Ruth will be be here to take you right through until September.”
The pair then downed champagne throughout the show, culminating in a tipsy Holly slipping off her seat during the segment about cocktails.
Holly glugged down creations mixed with bubbly and Aperol, and was really giggly by the end of the piece.
Afterwards, Holly couldn’t stop giggling as she and Phil hosted a gadget quiz, and she accidentally slipped off her stool as she sat down.
