Each-way Thief

MR PUMBLECHOOK (1.50 Newbury) has been laid out for this race by canny Alan King. He had an easy time of it in his prep race at Plumpton and has a featherweight here. Have an e-w double with ELVIS MAIL (2.25 Newbury) who impressed at Ayr last week and can defy a 6lb rise in the weights.

YALA ENKI (3.00 Newbury) makes his first start for champion trainer Paul Nicholls and has plenty of experience in top chases like this.

Templegate’s NAP

CABARET QUEEN (3.00 Newbury) can make a song and dance of the Ladbrokes Trophy. She comes from Irish maestro Willie Mullins who won this two years ago with Total Recall. Her journey to Newbury has been similar and she was impressive when taking the Munster National at Limerick latest as he did.

Sirius NAP

ROCKY’S TREASURE (1.15 Newbury) has a big shout if getting back to his best form.

Tom Pepper’s NAP

SCARLET DRAGON (2.25 Newbury) is a smart dual-purpose performer and looks set for a big run.

SunRating’s NAP

WEST APPROACH (3.00 Newbury) is a talented though tricky horse but did put his best foot forward last time.
