Irreverent Channel 4 dating show Naked Attraction is reportedly re-starting production following its COVID-19 shutdown.

The show – which sees singletons decide whether or not they want to date one another based on their naked bodies – is said to be resuming filming over the next weeks.

According to The Sun, the series – which is presented by Anna Richardson – is extra- hygienic because the pods the contestants stand in are wiped down and disinfected between takes.

‘Surprisingly Naked Attraction has a great COVID-19 format as standard,’ the source told the publication.

‘Despite the fact contestants have to stand in a studio with no clothes on, they actually reveal themselves from behind disinfected glass pods which can be wiped down afterwards.

‘Singletons who’ve been chosen can go on a socially distanced date if need be.

‘Channel 4 has given the team the green light and new blood, as well as contestants who had already put their name forward, will be contacted to get the show made.’

MailOnline has approached Channel 4 for comment.

This comes after presenter Anna revealed she wants to foster or adopt a child.

The TV host, 49, told Hello! magazine that as she is getting older she also feels that ‘time is running out’ for her to do so.

Anna, who has been in a relationship with former Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins since 2014, added that she was only speaking for herself.

She said: ‘For some time I’ve toyed with the idea of fostering or adopting a child.

‘I can only speak for myself, not Sue [Perkins], but I really want to do the training [to foster] and welcome a child into my life.

‘I feel keenly that I’m getting older, that time is running out.’

The host of The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft added that she ‘didn’t have children and there’s something seismic about your fertility coming to an end with the menopause, which I’m now going through.’

She added: ‘You suddenly think, ”But I still have this desire to look after someone, to make a difference to a child who perhaps didn’t have the same opportunities as me”, so I’m keen to explore that.’

Richardson added that the coronavirus pandemic has ‘focused my mind on the things I still want to do’.

She said that her and Sue, 50, have ‘taken up online poker with friends’ during the lockdown to fill their time.

She added: ‘Sue’s a fantastic cook and her vegetarian curries are legendary.

‘She’s showed me how to knit, too.

‘While I make a chunky pink scarf, she crochets a baby blanket for a friend.

‘It’s like going back to the 1950s where we’re at home cooking, gardening and making things.’
