A MONSTER mum who let her STD-riddled boyfriend rape and murder her four-year-old daughter could be freed from jail.

Abigail Young was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for letting little Emma Thompson be abused at the hands of her boyfriend Lucas Coe at their Texas home in Houston.

Now Young, who was 34 at the time of her 2010 jailing, is up for parole after serving half of her sentence.

But Emma’s family has blasted the decision, saying that it is a waste of time for the sick mother to even be able to apply to be released from bars.

It comes after the public was left staggered by the horrific nature of little Emma’s death, and how her own mother covered it up.

Four-year-old Emma had been diagnosed with the sexually transmitted disease herpes just three weeks before her death.

Social workers did not remove the little girl from the home, putting it down to a rare case of transmission by casual contact.

Young even tried to tell neighbours her daughter had died after falling from the toilet after having a diabetic seizure.

But after her death, it was revealed the little girl had been horrifically sexually abused.

She was also found to have suffered more than 80 bruises across her body, including a fractured skull and severed pancreas.

Disturbingly, Young had covered up the abuse her daughter had suffered by using her knowledge as a registered nurse.

She even tried to hide the four-year-old’s lacerated skull using crazy glue.

The horrific case saw Emma’s Law created, ruling that individuals convicted of serious crimes to apply for parole every five years.

But tragically, now that Young has served half her prison sentence, she can automatically apply for bail every year again.

Grandmother Laurie Thompson revealed her heartbreak, telling Fox26 Houston: “Emma doesn’t get a second chance at life. Emma doesn’t get a chance to run through the grass or sit in the blue bonnets, go to school, go to a dance.”

Texas Crime Stoppers spokesman Andy Kahan added: ‘There’s no reason in the world we should be doing this every year, it’s a waste of everybody’s time, resources and energy.

“This is one of the most egregious child abuse murders in Harris County’s history.”

Young’s boyfriend Coe was also sentenced to life in prison.
