McDonald’s has listened to the people of Australia and brought back some of its most popular menu items.
The last time it was on the menu was back in 2012 — that’s a long seven years without the tasty Mexican-inspired range.
The new range — available in Macca’s around the country — features fan favourites such as the El Maco burger and Shaker Fries as well as new items including the Crispy Jalapeno El Maco burger and Mozzarella Sticks served with El Maco Salsa.

Mcdonald’s Australia marketing director Jo Feeny told news.com.au the time had come to bring back the popular items.
Why? Because it’s what the people want.
“The legendary El Maco is an Aussie favourite and customers have been asking for it to come back on the menu since it was around in 2012,” Mr Feeny said.
“We’re celebrating the return with the introduction of the Crispy Jalapeno El Maco and Mozzarella Sticks served with El Maco Salsa.”

It’s not the first time the fast food chain has surprised its customers with the return of a cult item.
In April, it brought back its limited edition wagyu beef burger.
“The wagyu beef burger was a world first for McDonald’s when it first appeared on our menu last year, and it was a definite hit with our customers,” Mr Feeney said.
But critics weren’t kind to the new edition, with some claiming the wagyu was dry, tastes like “cardboard”, and that charging more than $10 was “taking the piss”.
The El Maco range is only available for three weeks until December 22.
