Detailing her physical scars in the snap, Maria said: ‘Hey. I’ve got scars! I’ve got this big one right here. I’ve got one under each boob, one on my back where I had a mole removed and I even have one on my chin from where Ben pulled the chair from under me in year 2 and my face hit the table.

She added: ‘I’ve also got rubbish legs, and cellulite, and an annoying hole where I had my belly pierced when I was 14. And at the minute I’ve got back fat, quite a bit.’

Maria continued by admitting not all of her ‘scars’ are visible as some of them are down to things that have happened in her past.

The reality personality, said: ‘Some of my scars you can’t even see, some of them are in my memory, c**p things have happened in my life, things I try and forget about.’

Encouraging her followers to follow suit, she said: 'So forget being perfect, who cares if that Instagram influencer has a banging body, it's probably photoshopped anyway. Why are you comparing yourself to her?

Maria added: 'Does she have those memories you have? those beautiful children? the laugher at Christmas? The love, the scars?'

She went on to say that those experiences have brought her happiness, as she said: ‘But you know what… loads of good things have happened too, I fulfilled my dreams, I’ve travelled, a lot. I got married… me, yes me, Married!!!’

‘I have got not only one beautiful daughter, but two. I like my eyes, my hairs grown and it looks good! I’m quite funny at times. My friends are awesome, so are my family. So, so what if I have scars? we all have them visible scars and those pesky ones in our memories that nobody else can see.’

‘If I hadn’t had those scars, I wouldn’t have my babies.’

Detailing her own mental battle, she said: ‘And as for those mental scars, they helped me grow into the person I am, they made me realise that when a good man appeared that he was good and I should hold onto him and not push him away.

‘They made me realise I can’t control how others treat me but I can control how I react. They helped me walk away with nothing in my pocket and start again.

‘That no matter how shitty life gets I would look back at all of these things and be proud, of my body, of my mind, who I am and remember that being perfect is boring anyway, I like eating chocolate, I love wine and actually, I quite like the imperfect texture of my skin.’

‘She isn’t you, you’re unique and you should own it! Stop comparing yourself to impossible ideals. Take a walk, eat well if you want to and don’t apologise for your flaws because they’re not flaws they’re all the unique things that make you you!’

Maria had announced she was expecting again in March and had voiced her sadness that husband Kelvin Batey was barred from her baby scan amid the Covid-19 lockdown.

Taking to Instagram, Maria shared a cute family shot with daughter Evie, four, holding up a sign which read: ‘Big sister’ with an arrow pointing up to herself.

Maria captioned the family snap: ‘In a world full of bad news… ‘ followed by a baby emoji.

What a shame! Taking to her Instagram Stories back in March, Maria previously voiced her upset that Kelvin was unable to be at the scan

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, she admitted that during her scan, she was trying to ‘predict the baby’s gender’ but couldn’t really tell at this point.

Maria also voiced her upset that Kelvin was unable to be at the scan, saying: ‘I know this is like major first world problems, but I just feel really disappointed that Kelvin couldn’t come to the scan today.

‘I did think that some clinics might be open with it being more medical, but literally there are no baby scan clinics open at the minute.’

She went on to explain that Kelvin had to wait in the car while she went in for her scan, but agreed in the current climate she understood the need to precautions.

She said: ‘It’s just really disappointing for the dads, because obviously they’re part of the journey as well.

‘And, I think it’s hard sometimes for the dads to feel really part of it, because they’re not the ones going through the changes and the pregnancy.

‘So for them, that’s their one bit of being, kind of, connected with the baby.

Maria went on to describe the measures being put in place to safeguard pregnant women as the deadly coronavirus sweeps the globe.

She said: ‘My next midwife appointment has been cancelled and will be done over the phone.

‘And that’s a shame as well, because that’s the one where they use the Doppler and feel the heartbeat.’

Upon announcing her happy news, a host of her celeb friends shared their congratulations in the post’s comments section.

Fellow pregnant former TOWIE star Lauren Pope gushed: ‘Yeyyyyy congratulations again guys, so happy we’re in this together!’

Channel Hayes wrote: Yayyyyyyy!!!! So excited it’s not a secret anymore!!!! Can’t wait to find out whether it’s a boy or a girl! Eeeekkkkk! Love you guys xx.’

Luisa Zissman added: ‘Ahhhhh that’s lovely news!’ and Emma McVey shared a congratulations message.

Maria married Kelvin Batey on 27 July 2019, three years after welcoming daughter Evie.

Maria was diagnosed with SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction) a condition that causes pain in the pelvic region and is very common in pregnancy, and needed crutches before the birth of her first child.
