Mandy Moore has addressed her ex-husband Ryan Adams’ public apology last week, which came one-and-a-half years after he was accused of misconduct and psychological abuse by multiple women.

Moore appeared on TODAY on Monday and was asked if she thought Adams has changed after he apologized for his ‘harmful behavior’ in an open letter published exclusively by DailyMail.com on Friday.

Speaking to Hoda Kotb, Moore, 36, said, ‘You know, it’s challenging because I feel like in many ways, I’ve said all I want to say about him and that situation,’

She continued, ‘but I find it curious someone would make a public apology but not do it privately.

‘I am speaking for myself, but I have not heard from him and I’m not looking for an apology necessarily, but I do find it curious that someone would do an interview about it without actually making amends privately.’

In February 2019 The New York Times published an expose accusing him of sexual harassment, with seven women including his former fiancee Megan Butterworth and former flame Phoebe Bridgers accusing him of abuse.

There were allegations that Adams would ‘dangle career opportunities in exchange for sex’ and retaliate against the women who spurned his advances by sabotaging their careers and harassing them via text message and social media.

Adams was also accused of sending sexually explicit messages to an underage fan, which he denied.

He was accused of inflicting emotional and psychological abuse on women, including Moore who was married to the rocker from 2009 to 2016.

On Friday, Adams, 45, shared with DailyMail.com readers and the world his regrets over his past behavior and intent to 'be a better man'

On Friday, Adams, 45, shared with DailyMail.com readers and the world his regrets over his past behavior and intent to ‘be a better man’ revealing that he’s now sober, wiser and finally ready to confront the damaging behavior that brought his career crashing down.

‘There are no words to express how bad I feel about the ways I’ve mistreated people throughout my life and career.’ he wrote.

‘All I can say is that I’m sorry. It’s that simple. This period of isolation and reflection made me realize that I needed to make significant changes in my life.

Adams insisted ‘this time it’s different’ and having ‘truly realized the harm that I’ve caused, it wrecked me, and I’m still reeling from the ripples of devastating effects that my actions triggered.

'I have not heard from him and I'm not looking for an apology necessarily, but I do find it curious that someone would do an interview about it without actually making amends privately.' Moore said

he continued, ‘Realizing the consequences of my actions, I took a hard look inwards and sought to find the truth behind them. What pain was I carrying myself that was so poorly and wrongly being projected onto others?

‘I made a promise to myself that no matter what it took, I would get to the root of these issues and finally start to fix myself so I could be a better friend, a better partner, and a better man overall.’

Adams added, ‘no amount of growth will ever take away the suffering I had caused. I will never be off the hook and I am fully accountable for my harmful behavior, and will be for my actions moving forward.

‘In my effort to be a better man, I have fought to get sober, but this time I’m doing it with professional help. Sobriety is a priority in my life, and so is my mental health. These, as I’m learning, go hand in hand.’

The musician said that he’s working on himself and is using music to ‘lay my soul bare’.

‘I written enough music to fill half a dozen albums.’ he explained.

‘Some of these songs are angry, many are sad but most of them are about the lessons I’ve learned over the last few years. Those ones an expression of my deepest remorse.

Of her own experience with Adams, Moore has previously said that he stifled her music career, telling her she lacked talent and stopping her from making industry connections.

‘He would always tell me, “You’re not a real musician, because you don’t play an instrument,”‘ she claimed in the NYT article.

‘His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time — my entire mid-to-late 20s.’

Following the release of the article, three albums the singer was planning to release through Universal Music Group were cancelled, as well as tour dates and several of the singer’s product sponsorships.
