Mario Mandzukic conditions
Manchester United have informed Mario Mandzukic that he must drop his wage demands in order for them to sign him in January, according to reports.
The Croatia international, who has been deemed surplus to requirements, currently takes home roughly £185k per week at Juventus.
And although the Red Devils can reportedly sign him for a paltry £9m – Ed Woodward and Co. are demanding he reduces his wages.
Goal report that Juve are keen to sell the veteran frontman and that he will be offered £4.4million a year on an 18-month deal, roughly working out at £85,000-a-week — half current deal.
He is said to currently be on around £5.4m a year with the Serie A giants, per Gazzetta dello Sport.
Emre Can decision
Manchester United are interested in signing Emre Can, reports claim.
The Germany international has endured a rough season at Juventus, with manager Maurizio Sarri omitting him from club’s Champions League squad.
It now appears as if Can is surplus to requirements at Juventus and, with Manchester United enduring a difficult season, links to the Red Devils have started up.
And Italian website Calciomercato claim United admire the former Liverpool star and are interested in securing his signature.
Manchester United have complied a seven-player shortlist.
The Red Devils are desperate for reinforcements having endured their worst start to a top-flight campaign in 30 years.
And according to ESPN, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward have their eyes on seven signings to restore their ailing fortunes.
Mario Mandzukic, Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele are the attacking targets.
While Declan Rice, John McGinn, James Maddison and Ivan Rakitic are also being eyed to bolster the midfield department.
Alexis Sanchez injury
Alexis Sanchez has been diagnosed with a dislocated ankle and tendon damage.
The Manchester United forward, on loan at Serie A side Inter, is still waiting to learn whether he requires surgery after sustaining the injury during Chile’s goalless draw with Colombia in Alicante.
“Alexis Sanchez underwent medical tests at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano,” Inter said. “Results revealed a joint dislocation in his left ankle which has caused damage to the peroneus longus tendon.
“The player will meet for further consultations with Professor Ramon Cugat in Barcelona on Wednesday, where they will seek to reach a decision on whether surgical intervention is necessary.”
