Newman and Tamara were staying in a cabin on the 13th deck on The Carnival Elation cruise ship heading to the Bahamas.

But after a verbal argument that started before midnight on January 18, Newman put his hands around Tamara’s neck and strangled her, the Department of Justice said in a news release Thursday.

He then proceeded to push her over the cabin room balcony railing.

Tamara, 50, died of blunt force trauma after her fatal plunge onto the 11th deck.

Newman pleaded guilty in federal court in Kansas to one count of murder in the second degree for killing Tamara with “malice aforethought,” the Department of Justice revealed.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 18, 2020, before Chief U.S. District Judge Julie A. Robinson.

Despite shoving his girlfriend to her death, Newman wrote to a Facebook group in honor of Tamara, just months after her death.

He said: “I miss u more than u will ever know I hope some day soon we can be reunited. Love always and forever.”

Tucker is remembered for her time as a professor of social work at Park University, her service as a program director of the Child Abuse Prevention Association in Kansas City, and as a loving mom to her one son.
