Anna Vakili’s future on Love Island has been revealed after she was left single following Sherif Lanre’s exit.
With another recoupling looming, 28-year-old Anna suddenly became an odd one out and vulnerable to being dumped from the ITV2 dating show after Sherif’s shock exit.
But there seems to have been some good news for Anna as The Sun has reported show bosses will change the rules of the recoupling so she can remain in the villa as single if she is not picked by another man.
Sherif, the 20-year-old chef and semi-professional rugby player, had his departure announced earlier on Tuesday, with ITV saying only that he had broken the programme’s rules.
A source has told The Sun that the shock exit has ‘left the show’s bosses in turmoil’ and that they are “scrambling to get the show back on track”.
With another recoupling due to happen at the end of the week there is a desire to have “an equal number of girls and boys”.
To this end, the decision has reportedly been made is that “Anna will stay on the show as single and given the chance to find love in the next recoupling”.
This is the second year running that there has been a sudden departure from the villa.
Last year Niall Aslam suddenly departed during the opening weeks, leaving Kendall behind and making her single in the process.
Following his departure, Sherif said in a statement: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
*Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
