Love Island fans were appalled at the behaviour of Maura Higgins during a date night in the villa.
After a dramatic recoupling that saw new girl Francesca Allen choose Curtis Pritchard, Irish grid girl Maura Higgins has seemingly vowed to make sure she wins over the professional dancer before their time in the villa ends.
Maura has not been shy in being forward with her advances while being in the villa but her chosen partner, new boy Chris Taylor, must be wondering what he has to do to get her to even look at him, let alone build a romantic link.
So, it was all a little awkward when the boys were tasked with cooking the girls a three course meal, so that they could enjoy one-on-one dating time in their chosen couples.
The problem for Chris was that their table was placed within earshot of Curtis and Francesca, which meant Maura was only interested in trying to overhear their conversation.
While Chris seemed to be a gentleman about Maura’s ‘obsession’ with all things Curtis, viewers at home were not so forgiving about her ‘rude’ behaviour.
Fans of the ITV2 dating show questioned why Maura didn’t put any effort in to getting to know Chris more and slammed her for the ‘disrespectful’ behaviour towards him.
Another was straight to the point: “Maura is being rude, poor Chris”
There was plenty of support for Chris, typified by this fan’s tweet: “I actually like him, he’s funny. I wish Maura leave Curtis and just crack on with Chris”
Curtis will be heading towards making a difficult decision soon as he keeps his options open, despite being chosen by Francesca.
Whether he succumbs to Maura’s advances, time will tell but his dumping of Amy Hart shows that he is not afraid to make bold choices.
*Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
