Louis Walsh has confirmed his return to the X Factor judging panel.
The music manager revealed the news at Westlife’s tour date in London and said he had already signed his contract.
Louis, 66, who was last on the show on the fourteenth series in 2017, said that he would be reunited with Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne for the rebooted version.
The judge hinted about his plans to return back in May when he revealed he had been speaking to his old pal Simon.
Louis said at the time that he would only return if Sharon was by his side.
Since then there’s been rumours that Nicole Scherzinger was set to make a comeback for the All Star or celebrity versions Simon is planning.
The Westlife manager confirmed his news to the Mail Online during their Twenty Tour, saying he had ‘signed on the dotted line’.
Louis told the Mirror that he wass mediating between the Simon and Sharon after they fell out over comments Sharon made when she was dumped from the talent show in 2017.
“Sharon would be great,” he insisted. “She’s burnt a few bridges, but that’s what’s good about her – she has an opinion. She’s never boring or predictable.”
Last year, Sharon raised eyebrows when she let rip at Simon, saying she’d “put a f***ing brick around his neck and throw him over”. She claimed he fired her for being too old.
But Louis says he’s confident Sharon and Simon, 59, will become friends again. “She was only joking,” he says. “It was all panto talk. They will make up. I’m going to mediate between them. I’ll do anything necessary.”
It’s unclear if Nicole will be a part of the fond reunion after it was reported by the Sun that she was in ‘advanced discussions’ to make a surprise return.
She was dropped twice from The X Factor in past shake-ups but has remained firm friends with Syco boss Simon.
