Lorraine Kelly was left emotional on her show on Monday, after a special message from her parents as she celebrated 35 years in broadcasting.
Her usual morning show was replaced slightly, with segments about her early career right up to the show in present day.
From her days on GMTV and prior to this, as well as a look back from the first days of her self-titled daytime show, there was a mix of special messages, returning guests and throwbacks.
It wasn’t just the outfits and hairstyles viewers were getting a look at from back in the day, but also some of her biggest interviews and reports.
But one moment that left the host super surprised and emotional was when her parents sent her a little message.
Her mum and dad revealed how proud they were of their daughter, who was seen at the bottom of the screen welling up.
Lorraine’s mother Anne said: “35 years on television, it’s really hard to believe.
“She’s very clever and she did very well. We think the world of her.
“We don’t say it as much as we should. We’re not ‘lovey-dovey’… She knows we love her. We’re very proud of her.”
Her dad John added of her career: “She enjoys it very much.”
Laughing off their comments, Lorraine wiped away tears as she confessed she didn’t expect the sweet moment.
She told co-star Mark Heyes: “I can’t believe you got my mum and dad to do that! My dad never does anything. I love them so much.”
Others to offer a message on her big day included Martin Clunes, Hugh Jackman, Dame Helen Mirren, Mel B, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 8:30am on ITV.
