Lorraine Kelly put an end to talk of her so-called “feud’ with former co-star and MP Esther McVey on Wednesday, as she told Piers Morgan off for stirring the pot.
As the Good Morning Britain host panned over to Lorraine in the studio for her to introduce her show, he couldn’t help ask one more time about Esther, following a week of drama.
Lorraine appeared to snub Esther on the show on Monday, with the MP later claiming it was to do with their GMTV history and Eamonn Holmes.
But Lorraine was quick to deny her claims, including that they shared a dressing room back in the day, suggesting her reasons for the snub had no truth to them.
She went on to suggest the real reason for the awkward look as because she didn’t agree with her politics.
Now, Wednesday saw Piers attempt to stir trouble once more, asking her if she had anything else to say about Esther.
Lorraine called him out as an “imp” before telling him to “behave”, laughing hysterically as she avoided more comments about her former co-star.
She said: “Oh behave, you’re such an imp. You are, you’re a mischievous imp.
“I’m just annoyed… there’s something rotten at the heart of politics, and it’s annoyed me, and you don’t want to get me angry Piers Morgan.”
It comes after she told him a day earlier: “Well who wouldn’t want to fight over Eamonn?” before repeating she didn’t really remember Esther as it was “so long ago”.
Lorraine went on: “I’m baffled love, there is no battle. I’m baffled by that though cos I’ve had my own show since 1992 and I don’t think she joined until about five years later, and as far as sharing a dressing room goes, it wasn’t really like that, it’s not like it is now.
“Back then it was just a little room everyone shared and got ready in, it wasn’t like a dressing room, it was just a room.”
It’s then that Lorraine continued, explaining her thoughts on the “toxic political atmosphere”.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 8:30am on ITV.
