Lady Colin Campbell claims Phillip Schofield ‘shoved her’ while backstage at an awards show… following their VERY heated This Morning exchange

Lady Colin Campbell has accused Phillip Schofield of ‘shoving her,’ during an awards show appearance.

The socialite, 70, claimed she was knocked to the ground by the This Morning presenter, 58, after her son Dima Ziadie made a similar accusation last week.

It came after both Phillip and Colin engaged in a heated discussion about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry last week, with the I’m A Celebrity star accusing the host of being ‘ignorant’ for criticising her book about the royals.

Lady Colin told The Mirror she recalled Phil trying to knock her over while they attended an ITV awards event.

It is thought the occasion could have been the 2016 National Television Awards, which both Lady Colin Campbell and Phil attended.

She said: ‘I was in a walkway, and Philip Schofield bounced into me, shoved me, trying to knock me down, obviously so I would look ridiculous or think I was drunk or some such thing.

‘I said to him ”excuse me!” but I didn’t know who it was until he’d walked past.’

Her comments backed up the accusations made by her son Dima last week, who claimed Phillip was ‘delusional,’ before claiming he’d ‘shoved her.’

Dima tweeted: ‘I personally remember when you tried to shove my mother at the ITV awards. You hate authoritative women!

‘You read a teleprompter your whole life, hide in a closet and you want to define the truth? For your own mental health… you are delusional. @Schofe.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Phillip Schofield and This Morning for comment.

The Celebs Go Dating star also appeared to make a thinly-veiled dig at the presenter for ‘not having any respect for the truth’, which seemingly caused him to refer to his recent gay revelation as he hit back: ‘I think you’ll find I’ve done that myself!’

Sharing his thoughts, Dancing On Ice’s Phillip labelled the socialite’s book ‘tawdry and undignified’, explaining: ‘I’d be surprised any of the royals would want to get involved with more gossip after your Princess Diana book.’

The award-winning wordsmith continued to stand by her book, stating: ‘You can’t have mental health if you can’t tell the truth.

‘This seems to be a debate about whether people should stand up and be honest or whether people should slink in the shadows and pretend. You can’t have mental health if you can’t tell the truth.’
