NON-LEAGUE footballer Jordan Sinnott has tragically passed away, aged 25.
Sinnott, currently on loan at Matlock Town from National League North side Alfreton Town, was a former Huddersfield player who went on to make over 500 Football League appearances.
His father Lee also played and captained the The Terriers.
Sinnott joined Altrincham in 2015 after leaving Huddersfield the same year, and had a prior loan spell at Bury.
He also played for Halifax and Chesterfield before joining Alfreton in 2018.
Halifax confirmed the tragic news of his passing on social media on Saturday afternoon.
A statement read: “We’ve received terrible news that our former player Jordan Sinnott has passed away.
“The circumstances are not clear and we’ll not be commenting further out of respect to Jordan’s family.
“Our deepest condolences go to Jordan’s family at this extremely difficult time,” the statement read.”
