It was announced on Thursday that Buddy would be joining the Sydney Swans in the team’s Queensland quarantine hub.

They are preparing for up to an eight-week stay away from home as they play out the rest of the season amid coronavirus restrictions.

In an interview with the Sydney Swans AFL club in June, Buddy said he was loving the opportunity to spend uninterrupted time with his family during lockdown.

‘The isolation period for me… obviously having the newborn was perfect,’ he said, as re-reported by The Australian Women’s Weekly.

‘I got to spend time with my daughter, which I wouldn’t have had, because obviously I leave early in the morning and get back late at night.’

He added: ‘To have that time and build that connection with my daughter was amazing.’
