Jennifer Garner calls Schitt’s Creek ‘the perfect pandemic splurge’ while hosting virtual reunion with the cast

Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner gushed that CBC TV sitcom Schitt’s Creek was ‘groundbreaking in its normalcy’ and ‘the perfect pandemic splurge’ while hosting the virtual cast reunion for Pop TV on Wednesday.

‘Schitt’s Creek feels like the perfect pandemic splurge because the Rose’s time in the town of Schitt’s Creek living in these two, just claustrophobic hotel rooms mirrors the world’s collective experience of quarantine,’ the 47-year-old superfan said in her introduction.

‘Going from endless travel, work, kids going all different directions to being forced to have to deal with each other and nothing but each other. As Alexis said, “We went a year without seeing each other.”

‘What starts as a fish out of water comedy finishes as a homey family connection. Connections are everything – love letter to the silver linings. And that’s why I think it’s feeling so especially great right now.’

The Rose family – played by Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy, and Annie Murphy – reminisced about the conclusion of their show in April after six successful seasons.

O’Hara – who played kooky matriarch Moira – said: ‘I actually imagine the Roses are still living somewhere. Even though I played one of them, I think they’re going on without us.’

Murphy – who played her daughter Alexis – agreed: ‘I think it’s to preserve our own sanity. I do the exact same thing.’

‘People have made kind of a reference that my character in Alias, Sydney Bristow, goes on to be Moira Rose because we wear so many of the same wigs,’ Garner noted.

‘And I really dig that.’

Jennifer even shared a detailed slideshow on Instagram about the parallel on July 20.
