How Man Utd could line up vs Perth Glory with new signings James and Wan-Bissaka to start but Lukaku to miss out

MANCHESTER UNITED look set to start new signings Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for their first pre-season game against Perth Glory.

The youngsters have both looked sharp in training – with Wan-Bissaka, 21, particularly catching the eye for his pinpoint tackling… and even eye for goal.

And James, also 21, has been training with his new United team-mates even longer and looks set to light up Australia with his lightning pace down the left wing.

However, there is no room for Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial – who both look certain to miss out after they failed to participate in training drills.

After landing Down Under on Monday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ran two sessions on Tuesday – with the forward duo taken on some gym work away from the rest of the 28-man squad.

Both Lukaku and Martial did train with the main squad earlier today, but will likely miss out on any action for tomorrow lunch-time’s kick-off.

But the United boss could also hand a run-out to a host of young stars, including Mason Greenwood.

The youngster has looked impressive in training, seemingly equally adept finishing with both his right and left feet.

Joel Pereira could be given a chance to show what he can do after returning from his loan spells at Vitoria de Setubal and Kortrijk last season.

James Garner could start in midfield alongside Scott McTominay and Jesse Lingard – with another returning loanee Axel Tuanzebe in the heart of defence.

Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly could be the men to round-out the back-four.

But Angel Gomes could also bag some minutes off the bench, along with the likes of Andreas Pereira and Tahith Chong.

First-team regulars Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata will also be in the running for some minutes.

In attack, Marcus Rashford is likely to show Solskjaer just why he is the No1 central striking option the season.

He could be flanked by James and Greenwood to start the game in Australia.
