Hair loss is just a part of life and one we need to simply deal with. Or is it? New research into a variety of products, herbs and oils are constantly being done to help with the search of a wonder treatment which could halt the process of hair loss and aid in hair growth. According to Ayurvedic practices, ginger could be the answer.
What is ginger?
Ginger is a super herb or spice that has been around for thousands of years.
It’s a popular and effective medicinal ingredient in Ayurveda. Ginger is often referred to as a root, an underground stem known as rhizome.
Due to its strong and spicy aroma, ginger holds an important place as a spice, delicacy and even medicine.
Apart from being used fresh, it is also used after drying and in powdered or pickled form as well as in the form of juice and oil.
It’s been said that ginger could help to increase hair growth.

How ginger could help with hair loss?
Ginger increases the scalp circulation that results in the flow of blood to the scalp.
It also stimulates the hair follicles and encourages growth.
The fatty acids in the ginger are beneficial for thin hair.
A person can make a hair mask by grating one tablespoon of ginger root in a small bowl and adding one tablespoon of jojoba oil to it.
It’s advised to massage this paste into the scalp in circular motions and leave it for about 30 minutes or longer.
Then rinse it off and shampoo.
Different ways ginger can be used to increase hair growth
Ginger oil comes in the form of extracts or essential oils, the latter of which needs to be diluted with a carrier oil before applying. Use the product throughout the scalp and hair for a spicy, invigorating aroma.
Rinse out after 15 to 30 minutes.
Ginger juice is made directly from ginger root. You may cut off an edge of a fresh root and massage directly onto your scalp.
Another method is to puree the root in a blender and apply all over your hair.
Ginger hair mask
To make a ginger hair mask, you may use ginger juice, essential oil, or extract combined with equal parts of a carrier oil, such as argan, coconut, or jojoba.
Massage into the scalp and cover your hair evenly.
Place a cap over your hair and leave on up to 30 minutes before rinsing out.
If treating the scalp only, it’s advised to add something acidic to the mask, such as yogurt, lemon, or apple cider vinegar.
