After Game of Thrones came to an end in May 2019 with much controversy, the stars of the show are walking the Red Carpet for the SAG Awards one last time.

The cast was nominated for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series and Stunt Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Actor Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister, is nominated for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series.

The cast has won the award for Best Stunt Ensemble in a Drama Series every year since first being nominated in 2012.

Here are the actors of Game of Thrones walking the red carpet next to the character they portrayed in the show.

Sophie Turner played Sansa Stark in the show.

She was one of the main characters and probably the one who had the most character development in the series.

Sansa first started as a young girl who was obsessed with the idea of marrying the next king, but ended alone as the Queen of the North.

In an interview with the New York Times, Sophie opened up about her feelings of how the show ended.

She said: “I loved it. It’s the only place that she really, truly feels safe. It’s the place that she’s the most capable of ruling.

“She would be a fair and loving ruler, and it’s what she’s been striving for this whole series: to go back home, to protect her home. And finally, she has that.”

Alfie Allen played Theon Greyjoy, the adopted son of the Starks who was really a captive of the family.

Just like Jon Snow, he was rejected by the rest of the Stark siblings because he didn’t quite belong.

He got back at them later on by betraying the eldest, Robb Stark. And although he was one of the most hated characters of the show, he proved his loyalty by sacrificing himself for Bran Stark.

Nathalie Emmanuel played Missandei, Daenerys Targaryen’s best friend and advisor.

Many fans thought that Missandei would be one of the characters to survive the game of thrones, but she, unfortunately, met her end in the hands of the evil queen Cersei Lannister.

Nathalie talked to Vanity Fair about the irony of Missandei dying in chains. She said: “When I saw that she gets captured and she dies in chains, I just felt the weight of that and what that really means.

“I was heartbroken for her, really. . . . I think the fact that she died in chains when she was a slave her whole life, that for me was a pungent cut for that character, that felt so painful.”

Gwendoline Christie played fan-favorite Brienne of Tarth.

She was first introduced as an unstoppable warrior who would do anything for the people she served.

Brienne stayed true to her character, even after finding love in the arms of Jaime Lannister, and survived the war against the Night King and against Cersei Lannister.

John Bradley played Jon Snow’s best friend Samwell Tarly.

He first started off as the shy member of the Night’s Watch who couldn’t even hold a sword to the first man who killed a White Walker to Grand Maester.

John told GQ: “That’s been a recurring theme for Sam over the series. He seems too progressive for the world that he’s in. You think back to Season Two and Sam has always seen women and seen people to be beyond what society thinks about them.

“He sees people as human beings and yet he has that compassion and that empathy. […] He suggests a direct democracy, and it doesn’t seem like Westeros is ready for that yet.

“He sees beyond these hierarchical systems. It’s interesting that this idea can be seen in this show and it’s heartbreaking that it isn’t taken seriously.”

Kristofer Hivju played Tormund.

He was first introduced as the funny, quirky, and loving wildling warrior who was also fair and a formidable warrior.

He captured fan’s hearts when he was in love with Brienne and would do anything to stand beside her.

Kristofer talked to GQ about the love story between Tormund and Brienne: “It started off as a running gag, you know.

“Tormund comes from a place where all women are warriors, and suddenly this strong warrior comes into Castle Black, and she’s the most beautiful woman Tormund has ever seen and he falls in love on the spot.

“It just grew from there. I loved it because it gave a new perspective to Tormund and I think it gave the show a bit more life.

“When you have a dark show like this, to throw some love into the pool, it’s like putting sugar to the kids.”
