It’s been just over two years since Ant McPartlin stepped away from his TV commitments following his drink drive shame.

But after taking some time off to focus on his sobriety, the TV presenter revealed it’s business as usual as he headed back to work on Saturday Night Takeaway, alongside best pal Declan Donnelly.

Taking to their official shared Instagram page, the ‘excited’ Geordie duo posted a snap shot of the 2020 series’ first meeting.

It shows the team sat around a table hard at work, with childhood friends Ant and Dec sat beside each other.

Both look deep in thought as they listen intently at the ideas meeting.

“First meeting for Saturday Night Takeaway 2020…exciting times!” they told fans who were delighted to see them back together.

In March 2018 the family show was pulled off air for a week when Ant crashed his Mini into two other cars, leaving Dec to present the rest of the series solo.

ITV then removed the series from the 2019 schedule as Ant continued on with his recovery and took 10 months off work.

He was fined £86,000 and given a 20 month driving ban following the crash in Richmond.

Ant and Dec vowed that they’d bring back the show ‘bigger and better’ than ever in 2020.

ITV’s director of television Kevin Lygo, previously said: “It was the right decision, because with Ant, we didn’t want him working last year so it was, it wasn’t just a year off on air, it was a year off from work and getting himself straight.”

He added that when the show does return it will be a ‘real, big moment.’

Ant, 43, was given a standing ovation back in January when he returned to work on Britain’s Got Talent.

He will also be back on I’m A Celebrity this Autumn with Dec – after being replaced by Holly Willoughby last year.
