England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow says if he had the chance to be a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing he would grab it with both hands.
The cricketer, currently playing in the World Cup, revealed he is an avid fan of the BBC show but admitted his footwork would need some attention.
Jonny, 29, said: “I would do Strictly… as long as I get a good partner.”
He refused to say who he would like to avoid, adding: “If you get partnered with someone you’ve said you don’t want to be with, it’s like shooting yourself in the foot.
“It’s like bumping into an ex-missus on a night out.”
Asked if he likes dancing, he said: “Not very much before 10pm. The paso doble looks really good fun.
“I’m not sure I’d be too good at ballroom but I think I could work on it.” The Yorkshire player added the “competitive edge” is why cricket stars – including Strictly series winner Mark Ramprakash – have done so well on the show.
