Emmerdale may have revealed details about Megan Macey’s exit from the ITV soap, in the fallout to partner Frank Clayton’s death.
Frank was killed off when the factory exploded, with him currently being blamed for the fire – while Amy and Kerry Wyatt actually started it.
But the discovery of the ring at the factory could change everything, as his daughter Tracy vows to prove his innocence.
Megan is unsure whether to attend his funeral, believing he started the fire that claimed his life – despite her obvious grief for the man she loved.
That is until Tracy shows her the ring box containing the engagement ring, which she believes he was getting from the factory and that was why he was there.
Megan didn’t realise he was planning on proposing to her ahead of his death, and on hearing this she breaks down.
Putting the ring on, she’s left feeling guilty for blaming him – but can Tracy convince the rest of the village about her dad?
Someone she can’t seem to convince is sister Vanessa who struggles on the day of the funeral.
She doesn’t want to hear Tracy’s claims, leaving her sister angry.
At the funeral, Megan delivers an emotional speech to the congregation about Frank.
It’s later on that she comes to a life-changing decision about her future, so will she depart the village for good?
Actress Gaynor Faye confirmed she was leaving the ITV soap earlier this year so it is likely the plot will see her vacate the Dales.
Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out when this is, and whether she will prove Frank’s innocence before she goes.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
