Emmerdale’s Jimmy King actor Nick Miles has revealed details on his character’s “awful” new storyline.

Little Archie, the son of Jai Sharma, is targeted by stepbrother Arthur Thomas in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap.

But Jimmy finds himself accused of harming the youngster while he’s in his care, when Jai discovers bruising on his young son.

It’s in fact Arthur who is terrorising the newcomer, who recently moved to the Dales to live with his dad after the death of his mum Rachel Breckle.

Despite initially being pals, Arthur, who is the son of Jai’s girlfriend Laurel Thomas, has grown jealous of him and begins to act out.

Emmerdale actor Nick Miles discussed the soap’s new child abuse plot

Speaking on Lorraine on Tuesday, ahead of the scenes, actor Nick revealed what was ahead for the plot.

He also revealed the storyline would run until at least Christmas, as things escalate.

Nick told host Lorraine Kelly: “He’s horrified, it’s awful for him.

Arthur continues to terrorise Archie

“He’s been under pressure looking after the kids because of the school closure.

“He’s been at the end of his tether around the children so now a child’s accusation suddenly has great power.”

On Arthur’s reasons behind his torment of Archie, Nick added: “He lost his dad in the most terrible way.

Jai fears his son has been hurt by Jimmy

“He’s had an awful few years so in many ways it’s understandable but it’s still not great.”

Nick revealed it could cause trouble for his marriage with Nicola, as Jai suspects Jimmy – with Nicola being best friends with his partner Laurel.

He explained: “She’s a very strong woman and best mates with Jai’s other half Laurel.

“That friendship is key to her because she doesn’t have a lot of friends.

Nick revealed the plot continues up until Christmas

“She’s put in a situation between her best friend and her husband, and she has to pick a side.”

On the future of the shocking storyline, Nick said: “It rumbles on right up to Christmas, it’s tough.”

Upcoming scenes will see Arthur leave Archie unconscious only for Jimmy to be accused over the incident.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
