MEGHAN Markle is well known for her love of designer clothes, so it’s no surprise that her mum Doria Ragland followed suit when looking for a christening outfit.
The Duchess of Sussex‘s mother, 62, looked to US label Oscar de la Renta for a look for grandson Archie’s special day, held at Windsor Castle last Saturday.
But it’s not the first time Doria has worked with the fashion house for an important outfit – as last year she chose a mint green dress and coat by the designer for her daughter’s Royal wedding.
The brand took to social media to announce the recent re-partnership with the grandmother-of-one after Royal fans turned to the Internet to find out more about her pink ensemble.
Custom made for the big day, where two-month-old baby Archie was centre of attention, Doria’s outfit was tailored specially for her.
She chose a chic peach that complimented the white dress of her daughter, without upstaging the Royal baby’s cream christening gown.
And while the exact outfit isn’t available to buy – it isn’t thought to have come cheap – with Oscar de la Renta’s looks costing thousands of pounds each.
The brand revealed they were behind the look yesterday on their Instagram page, where they posted one of the pictures released by the Royals from the day.
They wrote: “Doria Ragland attended the Christening of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, wearing a custom look from Oscar de la Renta.”
Fashion lovers praised the designer’s work, noting that Doria looked ‘regal’ and ‘pure’ in the official photgraph.
“She looked amazing that day,” one Royal fan responded, while another agreed: “Beautiful outfit. Touches of her heritage mixed with a royal touch.”
