Coronation Street fans have complained to Ofcom after Gemma Winter’s horrifying dream which saw her kill her own baby by putting it in a washing machine.
Disturbing scenes which aired last night on the ITV soap saw exhausted mum Gemma wake up to one of her quads Aled, who was crying.
She took him downstairs and, as he continued to cry, proceeded to put him in the washing machine.
Gemma woke up with a start in the morning and was terrified to see him missing from his cot.
As she ran downstairs to check, Gemma discovered partner Chesney cradling Aled in his arms while he sat on the sofa.
Many viewers found the scenes incredibly difficult to watch and according to The Sun Online, four complained to Ofcom.
Meanwhile others flocked to Twitter over the terrifying dream.
One tweeted: “Did Gemma really just dream she put the baby in the oven? That’s a bit dark even for me #Corrie.”
While another commented: “Even though it was a dream on a soap, that washing machine incident was f***ing disgusting on #CoronationStreet.”
A third remarked: “#coronationstreet reallly??? Gemma dreaming she put the baby in the oven?? Not the best or appropriate idea is it..”
“That dream was scary #Corrie xx,” another wrote.
This comes amid fears from fans that Gemma is suffering from postnatal depression as she struggles to cope with life as a new mum to quads.
Last week, Gemma stormed out of a boozy meet-up with a group of yummy mummies from her yoga classes and stepped out in front of a car with the buggies.
Thankfully, everyone was okay, but a haunted Gemma later confessed to Bernie that she hasn’t slept for weeks.
Is Gemma ok?
