A coronavirus victim who went viral in a horrifying video “thought she was going to die”.

Tara Langston, 39, filmed the worrying message from an intensive care unit at Hillingdon Hospital in west London where she tested positive for COVID-19.

The mother described feeling like having “glass in her lungs” in her three days in an intensive care unit while being treated for pneumonia.

Speaking on today’s Good Morning Britain, Tara warned viewers that coronavirus could be the most traumatic experience of their lives.

Revealing she returned home on Mother’s Day, Tara said: “That clip, looking back at it makes my heart skip a beat. I thought I was going to die at that point in the ICU.

“I was told I was going to be incubated. I didn’t know what that meant. They explained I was going to be put to sleep and incubated so my body could fight back because it was exhausted.

“I thought I wasn’t going to wake up or see my girls again.”

Tara pointed out that coronavirus can hit even the most healthy people regardless of gender and age.

Tara struggled to breathe

She said: “No one is immune to this. If you get it I hope you get mild symptoms, which is the reality for most people, which is why people should not go into overdrive.

“I don’t know why I got it so bad – am I hearing of the poor 21-year-old who passed away. If you get it bad it will be one of the most traumatic experiences of your life.

“Your body gets exhausted and you can’t breathe. You take your breath for granted. When you can’t breathe you realise how precious it is.”

Tara had a warning for the public

Another person who went viral, nurse Dawn Bilbrough, also appeared on the show to reveal she is suffering from coronavirus symptoms.

The front-line NHS worker went viral in a heartbreaking video where she pleaded with people to stop taking food from key workers.

The 51-year-old admitted she had a “little cry” in the supermarket after seeing the fruit and vegetable shelves totally bare at her lowest point.

Speaking live from her home in York on today’s Good Morning Britain, Dawn explained that she was self-isolating after being “floored” by illness.

She said: “It began with chest discomfort. When I’m doing anything round the house I feel breathless, ongoing nausea, persistent headaches.

“I do believe I have COVID-19 but I haven’t been tested so can’t confirm.”

She added: “I’m quite fit and I work out, I have a strong immunity, but it’s floored me. I’m very lethargic and can’t do much. I can identify with other people experiencing this now.”
