While Australia’s mandatory hotel quarantine can be testing for many, Urzila Carlson is enjoying the serenity.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph on Thursday, the 44-year-old comedian revealed she’s currently onto her ninth day of quarantine after flying into Sydney.

The upcoming Masked Singer judge left her wife of six years, Julie, at home in New Zealand with their two children, and confessed she was loving the peacefulness of being alone.

‘I wouldn’t risk travelling with them (under current conditions) but also what a God damn nightmare it would be to be stuck in a hotel room with two kids,’ she said.

She added: ‘I’d have been making a shiv on the first day.’

Urzila revealed that being holed up in a hotel room all by herself had afforded her luxuries she hadn’t had in years.

‘I love my own company. I’ve had a bubble bath every day since I’ve been here. Because I can,’ she continued.

‘If I try and have a bath at home those kids try and get in with me and that’s not what a bath is about.

‘That just takes all the leisure time out of it. You know, now I’m sitting on the plug and they make you be on the tap side and the cold water tap that never ever drips normally, will drip on you.’

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald last month, Urzila revealed her daughter had celebrated her seventh birthday while in lockdown.

‘You could hire bouncy castles and I had one delivered. We had it for 24 hours, no friends, but me, her and the boy were on the bouncy castle all day,’ she said.

‘It took me about a week to start walking normal again.’
