Love Island 2019 ’s Tom Walker continued to defend his comments towards Maura Higgins on the show, following his dumping from the villa, but fans claimed he was “lying” on the show with Caroline Flack replaying a clip that viewers claim backed this up.

He caused quite the storm on the show when he told pal Jordan Hames that he found Maura “cringe” at times and that she was a little over-the-top.

Jordan soon passed this on, and it wasn’t long before word got back to Maura, leading to an explosive showdown.

Tom had claimed on the show that it was a misunderstanding, and that he made the comments before he really got to know her.

But despite claiming his thoughts were only initial and had since changed, Jordan pointed out the conversation was very recent.

Aftersun host Caroline Flack decided to bring up the situation again, before exposing him over the fact it wasn’t a past judgment.

Tom said yet again as he appeared on the ITV2 show that it was an initial opinion he had, so he had nothing to be sorry about.

But Caroline decided to re-air the clip in question to prove this was not the case.

After pointing out that the words were said just a day before their row and not at the start of his show journey, she the asked him whether he regretted what he’d said.

Caroline wanted answers on his comments about Maura being “cringey” with him replying that it was down to her being so open about sex and being “loud”.

Maura raged at Tom over the comments

As Tom answered her, fans were convinced she wasn’t buying his comments due to her response and reaction to his claims.

One fan said: “Caroline obviously doesn’t give a f**k about Tom .. she’s like meh at the responses.”

Another said: “Tom is a joke. Trying to weasel out of his own s**t behaviour,” as others suggested he’d “lied” about his comments.

Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
