EUGENIE BOUCHARD drastically improved one lucky fan’s self-isolation, by agreeing to go on a date with him.

The Canadian former world No5 had complained of her boredom while social distancing last month, even admitting that it would be “a lot more fun with a boyfriend.”

Soon after tweeting this, Bouchard and her agent found themselves inundated with hordes of “resumes” from would-be suitors.

But while on an Instagram Live with sportscaster Allie LaForce, the 26-year-old found her match in the name of charity.

One viewer, named Bob, was leaving a barrage of comments revealing his “love” for Bouchard.

And in mischievous mood, LaForce decided to get the fan – who referred to the tennis player as a “smokeshow” – involved in the call.

Bob soon piped up again to offer around £400 for a date with Genie.

But LaForce upped the stakes further, demanding the £2,410 that it takes to feed hospital staff on the WTA star’s behalf.

When Bob pledged to make this donation, Bouchard agreed to date him, even telling LaForce: “You’re also helping me, being a matchmaker for me because I clearly need one.

“I agreed, yes, of course. I want to be part of this.”

All she asked… was for Bob to bring toilet roll.

Not willing to stop there, however, Bob then offered an extra £800 if Bouchard agreed to order in a BRITISH accent while on their date.

And the embarrassed former Wimbledon finalist reluctantly agreed, saying: “Why are you doing this to me, Bob?”

“You’re guilting me… so I feel I have to say yes because it’s for charity, but I’m also highly uncomfortable with that.

“I’m going to say yes but I have no skill whatsoever in imitating accents.”

This isn’t the first time that a lucky social media user has managed to secure themselves a date with Bouchard, however.

In 2017, student John Goehrke bagged a date with the star after predicting the New England Patriots would overturn their 21-0 Super Bowl deficit to the Atlanta Falcons.

And it went so well, that he even bagged a second date with the tennis player – and time will only tell if Bob fares so well.

Coronation Street stars have urged victims of domestic abuse to report their abusers to police via the ‘silent solution’.

Shelley King, Sair Khan , Sally Dynevor, Sally Carman and former show star Julie Hesmondhalgh all feature in a new video campaign, released in conjunction with Women’s Aid.

Their message comes as charities have said their helplines are receiving an increase in domestic violence-related calls as the UK locks down amid the global coronavirus crisis.

But help is at hand for those experiencing physical, sexual, emotional and financial violence.

Anyone needing help, but fearful an abuser may overhear them calling, can secretly dial 999 and then press 55, which will let the police know they need emergency assistance.

In the series of home videos, the Corrie cast say: “The world is going through a really difficult time right now and many of us are isolating at home.

“For anyone who is experiencing domestic abuse, it is no doubt terrifying to be isolated with an abuser.

“If you are in a situation where you are being abused, or you fear that you may be abused, there are measures in place that can help protect you.”

The video encourages those at risk to keep a mobile phone on them at all times and use the “silent solution” when calling the police.

The campaign comes after a recent Coronation Street storyline saw Geoff Metcalfe increase his influence over Yasmeen Nazir, revealing the damage of non-physical abuse.

A shocking study last month revealed that nine out of 10 couples enjoy having a cheeky tumble on their dryers, saying it was the perfect spot in the house to take a load off after a stressful day.

Sex outside the bedroom is proving irresistible to many couples, even during lockdown, while some have even ditched the house altogether to bonk in public.

But for those who are staying indoors, it seems there’s no place more arousing for them than where they do their laundry.

Here, three couples explain why they love having sex on their washing machines.

‘I was paranoid my son would hear’

Yoga teacher Maxine Morris, 40, is single and a mum of one. She lives in north London

She says: “I swore off sex after I’d had my son. But last December a guy contacted me on Instagram and we started messaging one another.

I’m learning about photography and he is a keen snapper too. We chatted online for a month.

He asked me for my number and we would spend hours on the phone together. We talked about collaborating on a photography project together.

My son started nursery in January and we arranged to meet for lunch in the day time.

When we met in the flesh I realised we had nothing in common except our love of photographing landmarks.

He was so athletic with a washboard stomach that I was able to sit back and let him do all the hard work

However he is 15 years younger than me and extremely fit. I’m almost 6ft and he was even taller.

When I told him I was almost 40 he looked shocked.

He lives in one room in someone’s place so there was no question of me going to his pad.

I invited over him over to mine when my son was in bed. I’ve got a one bedroom flat meaning my son has a bed in my room.

It meant we couldn’t have sex in the bedroom. As the living room is next to the bedroom that was out too.

We have been together since January. For me taking our relationship to the next level is a risk but an exciting one.

I’m normally far more cautious but we are in love-lust right now!

He has a room in his landlord’s house. Our bedroom is next to theirs.

It doesn’t give us a great deal of privacy when we have sex.

It’s hard when you don’t live alone and it means you have to be inventive.

Before quarantine I’d tried other places like on the beach, in the car or outside in a forest – but that’s normal for my generation.

When I first had a mooch around the house I discovered that the laundry room is far away.

I then had an idea. If we really want to ‘play’ without being noticed then this is ideal.

It was totally my idea to have sex on the washing machine. Alex laughed when I suggested it and told me I was crazy.

I justified it by saying with our laundry on we won’t be heard. I wanted to experiment and spice things up.

I’ve always wanted to try it and so sat on top of the machine.

The first time we did it the sex was amazing. We could be free with zero risk of being heard.

I’d already told Alex I needed to be able to make love with abandon. A big part of sex for women is being able to cry out at the right moments.

In our bedroom we have to keep quiet and can’t make a lot of noise. On the washing machine anything goes.

We usually pick a time when his landlord and girlfriend are engrossed in a Netflix binge.

I’ve done it enough times to know a fast cycle is best!

While I probably wouldn’t discuss it in real life I told a friend of mine about it when we were on FaceTime together. She even tried it too.

My boyfriend and friends were shocked at first. But my attitude is you only live once!

‘I tell all my girlfriends’

Carer Janice Granger, 60, is married to Roger, 56, a bathroom and kitchen fitter. They live in High Wycombe and have four sons aged 28 to 33.

She says: “We’ve been married for 32 years. When Roger and me first got together we were at it like rabbits.

We both have a high sex drive and when our first-born came along we continued to have regular sex while I worked and ran the home.

When our second son was born 18 months later juggling sex with childcare got tricky.

Then our youngest two came along. We managed to squeeze sex in but it didn’t happen very often.

My sex drive disappeared during the years I was bringing up the children — Roger’s didn’t.

He still wanted sex — but I had to reprioritise and it wasn’t at the top of my list.

Before the children came along we’d enjoy sex 2-3 times a week. Now I had the housework, the children, meals, shopping and working to juggle.

So we got used to quickies or on the occasional night out when we had babysitters staying over!

I also got thinking about how best we could be together. So during the kids’ childhood we would sneak out to the garage where the washing machine and tumble dryer was.

We always had laundry on the go. It was entirely likely that the washing machine would ‘break down’.

We didn’t have a lock on the garage door though.

So we’d be quick and have sex on the washing machine or the tumble dryer.

That was our go-to place when the kids were at home and there is still one living with us now.

One of our sons is living with us and he walked into our bedroom without knocking. He asked innocently why we were in bed before finally clocking what was probably going to happen until he interrupted us.

That’s why if we fancy a quickie and the house is full I will go out to the garage. On cue I call Roger asking him to look at the washing machine for me.

There is a risk of getting caught. The kids still store their stuff in the garage. I have to remind Roger to be quick.

And yes I do tell my girlfriends — if only to give them the idea!

TERENCE CRAWFORD is refusing to keep his children on lockdown and is going to the gym as normal because he doubts the truth of coronavirus.

The welterweight boxing star, 32, instead believes the virus is a media scare trying to instil “fear to try to control us”.

That is despite the USA recording 18,600 deaths as a result of the virus and half a million confirmed cases, with more than 2,000 of those deaths coming in the latest 24-hour period.

Asked on the latest Chris Mannix boxing podcast about how life has changed with the country in lockdown, Crawford admitted things are running as normal for him and his family.

The American said: “It ain’t no different to any other day. I’m not locked up in the house. I’m good. They get to go out. I’m not locking my kids up in the house, I’m telling you.

“I don’t feel like, a lot, all these people that they say are dying and sick from it is actually true. I think they’re using fear to try to control us right now… for something else.

“I don’t know what it is but me personally, I just can’t agree with a whole bunch of things that they’re saying now.

“The media runs the world. You put anything on then everybody’s gonna run with it and you’ll have people scared.”

“If it’s so bad then why are people still picking up trash (garbage man), why are people working but you can only do take out.

“I have a load of questions I need answers to. What about all the police officers that are still working?

“Me, if I was a cop, if it was that bad, then I wouldn’t be working. I don’t agree with what they’re saying.”

Crawford was asked whether he knew anybody who had contracted Covid-19 and admitted a friend did, but has since made a full recovery.

‘Bud’ then confessed to still attending his boxing gym as normal and training every day.

He added: “They said it really don’t affect healthy individuals, only the elderly or those with problems like asthma or breathing disorders – but that’s like any cold or flu.

“You’ve got to protect the ones with body issues like overweight or obesity.

“One of our friends said she had it but she said she’s doing better now so that was the only person.

“I don’t talk to them [management team Top Rank] about it [coronavirus]. We ain’t had one conversation about it. When the world picks back up to normal, we’re gonna do our thing.

“I’m enjoying time with my family, at home, laid back and chilled. I’m not anxious.

“I have my own boxing gym and I’ve got everything: treadmill, bikes, Jacob ladders, whatever you need I’ve got it

“I train every day – I left the gym not too long ago.”

Crawford is not the only high-profile sporting personality to reject the reality or authenticity of the coronavirus.

Fellow boxer Amir Khan, who Crawford beat in April 2019, released a series of bizarre videos where he blames the coronavirus on the building of “5G towers”.

The British star believes the cause of Covid-19 is “man-made” for “population control” but experts have told The Sun that linking the coronavirus with 5G is rubbish.

Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan compared the crisis to the “plagues of Egypt” and says God has “taken away everything we worship”.

The wrestling icon, real name Terry Bollea, made the claims in a lengthy Instagram post.

Crawford has a perfect record of 36 wins from 36 professional bouts and holds the WBO welterweight world title.

He was expected to put it on the line with a fight this summer – with many wanting to see him take on WBC and IBF champ Errol Spence Jr – but insists he could still be ready to go by the end of May.

The 32-year-old confessed the pair had chatted on FaceTime about making the fight happen, with both confident they can beat the other.

However, the thought of stepping into a ring in front of an empty arena does not appeal to Crawford, who would demand more money if that was to be the scenario.

He said: “Six weeks? Yeah I could fight in six weeks. I’m not sparring but in six weeks most likely I could be ready.

“If it was to happen [behind closed doors] then they’d have to pay me more because fighters of my status get paid by the people coming as well.

“You’ve got to pay me to go up there and do what I do. We’re taking a big risk and a health risk.

“When we [Crawford vs Spence] fight I truly feel I’m gonna f*** him up and he thinks the same. Let’s see who’s telling the truth.”

Frank Lampard will lead a mini squad overhaul in the summer as he looks to rebuild with players who will bring success.

The Blues boss has done well so far but there are many areas he will be looking to improve, having spoken about the lack of finesse and creativity in attack.

But to bring players in, Lampard must make room in his current squad and raise funds through sales.

So with that in mind, here are five players who could be sold this summer.

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian international has probably been the most disappointing player since Lampard took over.

He showed faith in Batshuayi by selecting him ahead of Olivier Giroud, but that faith was far from repaid.

He is valued at just over £15 million and Chelsea would probably push for around £20m.

Ross Barkley

Barkley has been largely inconsistent throughout his short Chelsea career.

He is a frustrating player, because he will be one of the best on the pitch one game, then easily the worst the next.

But despite his better form before coronavirus saw the season stopped, I think in a business sense, it would be wise to cash in now.

Chelsea paid just £15 million for Barkley but he should fetch £30-40m realistically.

Emerson

The Italian international is another inconsistent player who Lampard cannot really take risks with anymore.

He has interest back in Italy, so it would be wise to sell.

Emerson is valued around £22m but again Chelsea could easily push for over £30m.

Marcos Alonso

Alonso will be 30 in December, so now would be a good time to get rid.

Despite being a good attacking threat, the defensive side of his game and lack of pace has always let him down.

He should fetch around £18m.

Antonio Rudiger

I am aware of reports that Chelsea are in talks with Rudiger over a contract extension but I think they should sell.

If the talks over a new deal are true, then I am shocked.

Despite him being a solid defender, I think he has been pretty poor since returning from injury – which he is prone to.

He will be our most appealing centre-back to other clubs so I say take the money.

He is valued around £36m but the Blues could easily push for £45m which would be a great chunk of cash to add the the transfer war chest.

In total, that’s around £150m the Blues could bag if they offload these five.

And with the quality youth players coming in alongside a few top class signings in essential positions, this overhaul could bring success back to the Bridge sooner rather than later.

At the top of the shortlist is Borussia Dortmund’s wonderkid Jadon Sancho as the Norwegian eyes a right winger.

But Higginbotham, who started his career at the Red Devils, believes Sancho is just one of three players needed to challenge at the top.

He told ESPN: “We need two or three new players.

“Two or three top-notch players that can make a difference for United in terms of getting them up the league and putting them in a position to be able to challenge.

“What that means, if they are going to do that, they are going to have two or three regulars that are going to go out of the team.

“They can make a little bit of a difference coming off the bench.”

Sancho is expected to cost around £100million after another terrific season in the Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old has scored 14 and assisted 15 in 23 league appearances.

But with clubs struggling financially following a lack of revenue with the global spread of Covid-19, Arsenal legend Paul Merson believes there is no chance the Red Devils could afford him.

He said: “All the talk about Jadon Sancho commanding a £100m-plus transfer fee has been blown out of the water if you ask me.

“Borussia Dortmund are said to be demanding in excess of that figure for one of Europe’s hottest young talents, but they can forget it.

“There’s no way that’s going to be happening. It’s gone – over and out.

“Top clubs can’t be putting staff on furlough and then start forking out that kind of money the minute the transfer window opens.

“It’s not just the fee, but with players in that price bracket comes a pay packet of around £300,000 a week and that’s just not going to be happening.

“The landscape has changed not just for everyone on the planet but for football as well. Really big-money moves may be off the table for quite some time.

“With the financial situation as it is, how would it look for clubs struggling to pay their staff and then transfer deadline day arrives and it flashes up on the screen that £900m or whatever has been splashed out on players? There would be uproar.”
