And Koulibaly is reported to be a target for Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United had been interested in snapping up Leicester City ace Harry Maguire, 26.

But the England international is set to join rivals Man City instead.

Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, 26, has also been linked with an Old Trafford switch.

However, the World Cup winner is valued at a staggering £430million.

And United are now focusing their attention on £85m-rated Koulibaly.

The Senegal international has made 212 appearances for Napoli in five seasons.

But speaking at the African Cup of Nations, Koulibaly has refused to commit his future to the Italian outfit.

He told Goal: “I don’t know [if I’ll still be at Napoli next year]. I think so.

“But I have to play the AFCON and then after that I’ll go back to Napoli.

“Everyone’s speaking about me, but I’m only speaking about Senegal, because that’s my objective today and I want to achieve something big with Senegal.

“I don’t want to talk about my future today. I’m relaxed, I want to focus on the Afcon and after that return to Napoli and we’ll see what happens.”

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba, 26, is pushing for a return to Juventus.

The midfielder is also wanted by Real Madrid but he is eager for a second spell in Turin.
