Who is Atul Kochhar?
Born August 31, 1969, Atul Kochhar is an Indian-born British chef.
The 48-year-old began his cooking career in hotel restaurants in India before he moved to London in 1994.
In 2001, Atul became the first Indian chef to win a Michelin star and regularly returns to his homeland whenever possible to research new recipes and ingredients.
Atul went on to open his critically acclaimed restaurant Benares Restaurant and Bar in Mayfair, for which he was awarded his second Michelin star in 2007.
He currently lives in London with his wife Deepti. The couple has two children together.

What has Atul Kochhar appeared in?
Atul joined MasterChef Goes Large in 2006 and has also appeared in Market Kitchen and Saturday Kitchen.
He was part of a select group of British chefs to compete on Great British Menu where he was twice representative for South-East England.
In 2018, he was announced as a judge for Million Pound Menu with Fred Sirieix.
In addition to his TV work, Atul has also published four successful cookbooks.
