Evidence will be held securely and never stored on the phone to stop partners finding the content.
Vulnerable people will also be able to find their nearest support centre by searching their area or postcode through the new technology.
And they will be able to dial direct to domestic abuse support services close to home.
The Bright Sky app was developed by domestic abuse charity Hestia and the Vodafone Foundation.
Figures show 1.2million people suffered domestic abuse last year.
