But his relationship with owner Waldemar Kita had reportedly hit rock bottom.

Ranieri was left furious when Kita went public to criticise his management and team selections.

The 66-year-old also failed to turn up to a club’s anniversary dinner citing that he “couldn’t find a parking space.”

Despite their ongoing feud, Kita is adamant that his dismissal was not because of a personal issue between the pair.

Speaking at a sponsorship event, Kita revealed: “We can’t hide anything. We had a meeting with the sponsors, he thanked everyone.

“He has to be thanked for all the work he has done. It has not always been easy, there are regrets, but this is life and there is no anger.”
