VALENTINE’S Day is an expensive time of year, but supermarket deals now mean you can have a cheap and cheerful dinner at home.
This year, Co-op is selling a budget dinner at just £6 for couples who want to avoid pricey menus and cheesy music.
Co-op Savvy shoppers can choose from steak, lasagne or a vegetarian Mushroom Wellington for their main
What’s included in the Co-op Valentines Day meal deal?
The bargain bundle includes a main for two and two side dishes or one side and dessert.
Savvy shoppers can choose between a steak, lasagne or a vegetarian Mushroom Wellington for their main and a range of side dishes including chips, mash, roast garlic flatbread or asparagus tips.
For dessert, couples will be able to pick an impressive melt in the middle chocolate pudding, a champagne torte or a punnet of strawberries.
Sadly the deal doesn’t include booze. But Co-op is running a deal on Co-op Prosecco and a Thornton’s chocolate box for £10.
This means that you could get the meal, complete with some fizz and chocolates for under £20.
Prosecco, flowers and chocolates are all synonymous with February 14 for a reason – but being romantic doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune.
Co-op The deal will go into Co-op stores on January 31 and will run until February 20
How long is it running for?
The deal will be available at Co-op stores from January 31 and will run until February 20.
Adele Balmforth, from Co-op, said that the range of product will help customers to “impress for less”.
“We’re running the offer for three weeks as it’s not all about the day itself – we want to encourage customers to enjoy the affordable meal for two with friends, family or housemates too,” Ms Balmforth added.
