British Couple’s Toddler Son Dies After Falling 25ft From Algarve Apartment

A BRIT couple’s toddler son has died after falling 25ft from their Algarve holiday apartment.

Emergency services were called to the Lagos resort at around 9.30am on Saturday.

The 18-month-old, who was born in Portugal, was rushed to Portimao Hospital in a critically injured condition.

He was later transferred to the Algarve University Hospital Centre, in Faro.

The boy’s parents were both believed to have been in the apartment, near the entrance to Lagos, at the time.

Hospital sources confirmed the youngster died as a result of his injuries after being admitted to a paediatric intensive care unit.

Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

One source said it was believed the child had died in a tragic accident – possibly while the youngster’s parents were still sleeping – but the investigation was ongoing.

The child’s parents lived on the Algarve and the child was born in Portugal and is said to have Portuguese nationality.
