THIAGO CARLETO stole the show during Atletico Paranaense’s clash with Cruzeiro after netting a sublime 40-yard free-kick… whilst wearing a SWIMMING CAP.
Unfortunately for the 29-year-old, his supreme effort was in vain as his side lost 2-1 in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil Round of 16.

The Brazilian left all eyes on him at the Arena da Baixada for his choice of headwear as he recovers from a head injury.
But instead of wearing a mask or a protective helmet similar to what Petr Cech uses, the left-back decided to don a swimming cap.
And he certainly made a splash on the pitch after wrong-footing Cruzeiro goalkeeper Fabio between the sticks.
The 37-year-old was left bamboozled by Carleto’s Roberto Carlos-esque free-kick as it flashed past him into the far corner.

Carleto has been in fine form already this season for the 2001 Brazilian top-flight champions, netting twice in six games, as well as chalking up two assists.
Atletico looked to be heading for their first win when Carleto took the lead in the 41st minute, but were stunned by the visitors in the closing stages of the match.
